Conor Doolan, B.A. (Hons) in Heritage Studies , is a native of Killarney and has graduated from Galway – Mayo Institute of Technology’s Heritage Studies course with first class honours. Conor is a well-traveled and highly qualified guide who passionate about local history, Irish culture and community affairs.
Conor has been trained by Fáilte Ireland, which is Ireland’s National Tourism Development body.
Conor Doolan was a tutor on both the National and Regional Tour Guide Courses, 2015-2016. Conor taught Irish Cultural and Natural Heritage to prospective Fáilte Ireland approved tour guides.
‘I also conduct historical research and public presentations on local history’ . 2016 was an extremely busy year regarding 1916 commemorations. Conor was the main organiser in Killarney and Kilcummin of local events. Conor has recently appeared on the RTÉ television series ‘Building Ireland’ in October 21, 2016. April 2017 Update: Conor Doolan is now working as a Rural Development Officer for County Wicklow Partnership. Conor is still available for historical research inquiries, the occasional tour and public speaking engagements.
